Car history:
Absolutely stunning 1969 Corvette convertible with extremely RARE SPEED MINDER speedometer warning system from the factory (works perfectly)! Try to find another with this ultra rare option! These pictures were taken on a very overcast day last week just before the ice storm hit, so I apologize if they're not the greatest. The car looks FAR better in person. I purchased this car for my collection from the second owner (Doctor) who owned the car for about 30+ years. When I bought the car, the owner told me other than the paint and engine, the car is original as well as its mileage and it shows. I have a pretty extensive collection of old Corvettes and other muscle/exotics and I'm trying to thin down my collection some from 15 down to around 6...hard to do, but the wife insists. This particular car has gorgeous paint, near show quality. It's smooth as glass and super shiny and deep. It was professionally repainted a few years back and was immediately put away in a climate controlled garage where it sat until I bought it. All new weather stripping, etc was applied at that time as well. All glass is original and in great shape. The chrome is in very nice condition as well. The 8 X 15 Rally wheels are also very nice. Tires are like new. The frame and birdcage are rock solid and rust free. The interior is original and in incredible condition for being 45 years old. The seats show no wear as well as the carpets (I have the rubber mats, but they're not shown in the pics so you can see how nice the carpet is). Both footwell lights as well as the rear cargo area lights work as properly. The original radio is present and works very well. The dash has no cracks. The door panels have very minor cracking on a small section of the arm rests but I have a new set of arm rest covers that will come with the car. The correct NOM 350/350hp engine runs super strong and pulls hard. The 4 speed tranny shifts crisply and goes great through all gears. The soft top is original to the car and in fantastic overall condition. The rear window is fogged but it's in such nice shape otherwise (rear window is not cracked and is still flexible). I chose not to replace it because they're only original once and other than the plastic not being really clear I couldn't see a reason to change the originality of it. I also have a factory original black vinyl hardtop. It is NOT included in this auction, but can be purchased by the winning bidder for an additional $1500. It is in fantastic condition and needs nothing as well. As for the engine, I currently have an Edelbrock 4 barrel carb on it but the original Rochester 4 barrel will come with it as well. The body of the car is super straight and all gaps are really good (notice the headlight covers and hood gaps in one of the pics). This is not an overly restored car that you're afraid to drive or take out but rather a survivor that has been lovingly maintained over its lifetime and looks like a million bucks. It looks as if it's been restored but it's mostly original! I recently had the brakes and carb gone through, as well as installed a new battery. Headlights go up and down, however I have the vacuum line disconnected on the wiper door and have it in the up position (easy to put back). You will not be disappointed with this car. It is stunning and goes well down the road. Cranks right up with the first turn of the key. Comes with its original owners manual as well! $20,000. February 17, 2014.
